What do you know about Mr. Light?

To be honest, I'm worried about my girlfriend Abby. We've lived together for the past two years and have a great relationship. I love her so much and I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be my future wife. We both love video games, reading books, and watching scary movies together. Abby's great to be around but lately she's been acting very odd.

She barely speaks to me anymore. When she does, it's short one to two word answers. She barely touches her food and goes about her entire day like a zombie.

Last night, I was lying in bed, desperately wondering what to do. I don't even know what to say to her I thought to myself. I've asked her before what's wrong but she doesn't even reply.

Abby came into the bedroom and interrupted my thoughts. Lying down next to me, she finally spoke a few words. "Percy? Will you please hold me? Hold me tightly and promise to not let go." Her last words troubled me. They came out more than just a request, almost if she were pleading.

"Of course honey," I answered, pulling her closer against my body. I peeked down at her face and was greeted with two fear-stricken eyes staring back at me. "Abby, whats wrong? You can tell me anything."

She was silent for a few minutes, almost to the point where I didn't think she would answer.

"I was at the library the other day," she spoke, her voice coming out barely louder than a whisper. "I was up on the third floor, searching through the older books in boxes you can buy cheap, when I saw a book that made me stop. It was so...different."

"How do you mean different?" I asked.

She paused for a second and shook her head in confusion. "I don't know why exactly. For some reason, I just felt like I had to look at that book. But when I picked it up, it was cold. Like ice-cold. It was a heavy book with no author or title on the cover, but when I opened it up, only the first page had anything written in it."

At this point, Abby was trembling in my tight embrace on her. I tried to soothe her and told her to keep talking.

"The name Mr. Light was written with a few lines underneath it. It read 'He only kills' and 'Death will haunt'. But the worst part was a crude drawing at the bottom. Like a white silhouette of a tall man but he had the darkest eyes buried into his face and the words 'Always watching you' scribbled into the paper."

I was quiet for a moment before I spoke. "Abby, it was just a book. Why are you so scared?"

"Because I keep seeing him everywhere I go!" she cried out.

"Abby, no you haven't. You need to calm down and..." My voice trailed off as I saw out of the corner of my eye a white ghost like figure fading around the corner of the hallway and down the stairs.

Abby looked at me and softly spoke, "It's here. Always watching. Always."
