What is the relationship between the strong force and the creation of mass (*separate* from the Higgs mechanism)?
I have recently found out that the "strong force" gives the luminous matter in our universe more actual mass than the Higgs mechanism does. So this brings up a few more questions about mass and inertia, as well as just exactly what the strong force and the Higgs mechanism contribute to the "creation" of mass.
What is the relationship between a particle's mass, the strong force, and the Higgs mechanism/field? Thank you!
