Three monitors. One Video Card. Is. It. Possible.

Sorry if you didn't enjoy the title. I have no Video Card currently. I am using the VGA port on my motherboard to connect only one monitor. I want to make the jump to three monitors, so can I get a Video card that has two ports, not unplug my current monitor from the motherboard, plug in the Video card, and plug in two more monitors. That would result in 2 monitors connected to the graphics card, and 1 monitor connected to the motherboard. Is this a possible setup. I DO NOT GAME at all. All I need is more monitors.
