Synthetic shirt + Super Glue= smoke.

This happened 15 years ago so I can't provide specifics, but I've long been curious about it and just recently remembered it. The shirt was probably polyester though it may have been rayon. The glue I'm almost positive was plain Super Glue brand super glue. I'm curious as to what materials were reacting and how harmful the smoke might have been. I'm fairly positive the shirt was clean and that it was the glue reacting with the shirt and not something on the shirt, though it was a black shirt and new so it had a fair amount of dye on it. If anyone has any thoughts I would like to hear them.
