Wake up call

Originally submitted as reply to another story... Thought I'd share..

I used to live on the second floor of my parents house growing up. It had ALWAYS been my room. (They bought the house due to my expanding the family.) Outside my window were the ever hanging Christmas lights and a tree. Like you I'd gotten used to the tapping of the tree when it was windy and to spite my active imagination I could usually still get to sleep. One night I was woken up by the tapping. I shrugged it off as being the tree until I realized it was the distinct sound of nail-less fingers tapping on my window. I layer there and listened to the sound for a solid 5 minutes to make sure I wasn't imagining it. I sat on my bed stairing at my closed curtains sitting up in bed listening to the sound. Then it abruptly stopped. I waited a moment longer before getting up to check on it. When I peered through the crack in my curtains nothing was there. In case you're curious the tree was too small to hold a person a) high enough or b) close enough to make connection with my window.
