Really quick, Reddit: have you ever experienced an indie breakthrough?

Earlier today I was listening to a little Coldplay, as a morning ritual I've had for several years now. Since I am a broke college student who left most of his records and CDs behind at my parent's house, I usually go on youtube to play my morning music.

Then I saw a link, going to Two Door Cinema Club's "What You Know". By the end of today, I've fallen in love with Foals, TDCC, Phoenix, and a ton of other indie bands. This is coming from a previous ambient trip hop/prog. house listener.

Have you guys had an indie breakthrough like I have?
