Upgrading to a new phone soon and I'm stuck between the Nexus 7 and Xperia™ ion LTE/HSPA.

I'm upgrading from a 2.1 firmware LG Optimus in about a week or 2. I'm stuck between these two choices Nexus 7 and Xperia™ ion LTE/HSPA. The Nexus 7 however looks aesthetically less pleasing to the Xperia, with the bulky look but looking at the website does have 4.1 firmware while the Xperia is only running 2.3. The price does not matter for me and I'm just looking for opinions. I'm not business oriented, so the most I'd be doing is surfing the internet, reddit, youtube and just using it for college. Opinions?
