Why is the Wicked Edge so expensive?

Yes, it is a diamond impregnated sharpening system, but that doesn't mean that it has to cost so much...Has anyone found one for a decent price, or one comparable that is more economical?

EDIT: I am an avid knife collector and I like to sharpen my knives often. I can get an edge scary sharp( shave my beard) when I freehand sharpen; I just can't justify that price tag.
