Taunted Minds (Very First Poem; feedback would be appreciated)
Burning ships melt into the sea,
The waves they ride taunt our minds
Life smolders but does not end it,
Those days are gone, whipped away in out pretentious graves
The echoes of the past flash in our minds eye
Will we understand our shared turmoil when dawn comes?
It cannot be extinguished unless we understand our brethren
The winter burns and twists away in our narrow minds
It will be forever reflected by our thoughtless actions...
I see him...
He's coming here....
The Killer wakes in the evening,
He walks by the ocean-side; across the highway,
He approaches us with that crooked smile, holding a knife
He plans to end your innocent life
He sees me, He sees you...
It's our flesh He sees right through...
