DANCE VIDEO! THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS! DON'T DESTROY THIS NIGHT!

HEY! This is a video my roommate at university made a little while back of me dancing!

It's to the song "Don't Destroy This Night" by The New Pornographers, which was originally performed by The RockATeens! It came off a compilation of covers Merge Records made for its 20^th Anniversary back in 2009. It was called SCORE! It's really good! It's not just that there are a couple cool tracks on it, as a whole record, it really works! Besides The Pornos it's also got The Apples in Stereo doing Neutral Milk Hotel Times New Viking playing Neighbourhood #1, St. Vincent, and two of the 69 Love Songs! All this, and MUCH MORE HOLY SHIT!

AND BUT ANYWAYS: One day a couple of my friends came up to Calgary so we could all see STAR WARS: EPISODE ONE: THE PHANTOM MENACE in MINDBOGGLIN' 3D! And projected on NOT-ACTUALLY-AN-IMAX-SCREEN-BUT-STILL-A-PRETTY-BIG-SCREEN! Then we hung out at the MALL! It was AWESOME!

I consider myself to be an anarcho-socialist, so I don't really go to the mall often, because it's kind of gross! Besides that I'm ideologically opposed to mass consumerism, though,I don't want to be spending all this money I don't have on stuff I need! BUT I ADMIT, that day I really enjoyed myself! I think I got myself some good stuff, though. I ended up going to either Coles or Chapters (how the fuck should I know which) to get some comics and HMV to get some CD's, one of which was Kaputt. It was a pretty good time!

So, when I got back to my dorm, my roommate asked me how my day was, and I told him about how my friends had come up, and about Star Wars, and how I bought a Destroyer album. He didn't know much about Destroyer, so I mentioned how Dan Bejar plays for The New Pornographers all the time, but of course, he didn't know them either, so I played him this song. I did a couple little dance moves and then he decided it would be a good idea to make a video of me. This is it!

I think I've got some pretty good moves here! The sound quality is kind of doubly shitty because besides that I'm playing the song on laptop speakers, it's also recorded on some cheap, digital phone's speakers. IT WASN'T ME WHO SHOT IT, LAY OFF ALREADY! ALSO MY HAIRCUT IS KIND OF HIDEOUSLY AWFUL HERE, BUT THAT ISN'T DUE TO POOR VIDEO QUALITY! I ACTUALLY SHAVED MY HEAD AFTER SEEING THE VIDEO, BECAUSE I REALIZED HOW TERRIBLE IT LOOKED! I STILL THINK IT'S A GOOD VIDEO THOUGH!
