DAE have problems currently involving framerate that were not present before the most recent update?

I've been having abnormal problems that appeared to be 'lag' at first. My ping, according to a friend playing with me on the same servers, is fine.

The game will just suddenly freeze up for a second, then jump to where I currently am, or it will be 'choppy' for a few seconds, then be fine, then 'choppy' again.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this is, or have the same problems I'm experiencing? Everything ran perfectly well before.
