Any hope post failed display replacement? If not, what's the best way forward?

I broke the glass on my 4S the other day, and bought a display replacement kit from ifixit.

Took apart the whole phone per their instructions, then realized that I actually bought a iphone 4 kit, which doesn't quite fit the 4S.

I put the whole phone back together as best I could, losing 2 screws and being generally sort of bad at putting it back together.

Now, upon trying to turn it on, nothing happens, and when I plug it into my computer or the wall outlet, the backlight comes on, and it just repeatedly goes "buzz buzz" like it's getting plugged in or starting up.

Nothing ever appears on the display, and iTunes recognizes it existing, but never gets past the greyed out version of it.

I reopened it and looked through all the connections, disconnected and reconnected them and made sure everything looked right.. which it did.

What's my best option here? Is it at all salvageable? What's my best approach to the apple store if I need to replace it?
