IUD Question: Is there a reason I should wait the full 6 weeks for my IUD checkup after insertion? Insurance is expiring in a WEEK and I only just got notified...

Hi all, it's late so maybe no one will see this....but I can't seem to find the answers I need through Google and searching. I'm going to call Planned Parenthood tomorrow morning before work, but I feel so down and don't know what to do...if anyone can even just give encouragement or some small advice one way or another...it would be greatly appreciated.

I got my IUD on June 23 at Planned Parenthood; I have Medicaid so it was completely free. Which is awesome. When I called Medicaid in early June, they told me on the phone that my insurance with them expires on August 31. I needed to file for renewed for Medicaid by June 25, but did not do so because I want to switch to private insurance for the Fall. Besides the fact that I've been able to work more this year to afford private, I also wanted to switch because of the passive aggressive appointment cancellations I kept getting under Medicaid at many different doctor's offices in my city.

My plan was that I apply for private insurance in June, allow for review/approval/processing to happen in July and August, and then be covered when my old insurance lapses for September. That way I would not ever be uninsured.

Unfortunately, I got a letter today...dated July 6, received July 9...saying I'm being kicked off Medicaid by July 19 since I did not renew. This is like 1.5 months early, this is not what I was told and isn't according to what I planned out for myself...I thought I was being responsible, but then things like this happen....Maybe this is because they really wanna save money where they can - by kicking people out early. But like...if I was supposed to have to to August 31, I don't understand why I can't have it till August 31. But whatever...even if I renewed it at this point, processing consistently took them ~3 months...so I'd be in the same boat than if I didn't re-enroll. Half of July and all of August,I won't be covered.

So, my check up is in August for the IUD at Planned Parenthood. I'm going to call tomorrow and see how much it costs to pay out of pocket. But if there's a chance I can move the check up up to like...this Saturday (exactly 3 weeks after insertion), would I be doing my health a disservice? Should I just suck it up and wait the full 6 weeks? There is not even a guarantee I can go this Saturday, since PP is always packed full.

Another thing holding me back from just paying out of pocket, my parents would see the bill from PP. They know I went there for my "annual checkup", they don't know I went for IUD as well...they don't know I have sex, and I'd really like to keep it that way. I'm not sure how I would explain this. My boyfriend has offered to help me get the cash to pay it all upfront, but I SERIOUSLY do not want to put him out like that...I'd rather pay it full myself. I'm pretty sure it'll be like $500, appointments are usually like that. But my work has also kinda been late in paying me .. I just got a check for work I did in April today, for example. Haven't cashed in that check yet.

I know people have it worse than I do. I'm not starving, my rent's not astronomical at all, and I'm moving up (going to private insurance!). But this just sucks at the moment and I have no idea what to do. Maybe this is my temporary depression clouding my mind...

TL;DR: Got an IUD 3 weeks ago, insurance is dropping me in a week...won't cover my IUD checkup in August. What should I do?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or even just commiseration...

EDIT: Since the IUD check up is a followup, does anyone know if maybe it is of no additional cost? Hopefully?
