Which is the better sex, Male or Female?

When I was in high school, a ways back (Im 32 now) we had a class called Career and Life Management. Kind of Sex ed with young adult accounting thrown in for good measure. Anyway one class the teacher came in and said What makes your sex better then the other.
The guys started off with the obvious, guys are better because we don't have periods, not as emotional (or so most of us thought) as women. The females in the class rebutted by saying that periods are a necessary evil, and without them the human race would simply cease to exist.
The women said emotions are great because they help them to communicate better, especially in non verbal ways.

So I put it to you, which is the better sex and why?
