Glitch in the matrix? What could this have been? And reddit, what are your unexplained experiences? I'll start...

I was with my friend in her car driving to my house at night after a fun few days of hanging out one summer break. I lived in a rural area so it was a gravel road with barbed wire fences and no lights. Right after we came around a curve she started to slow down, I look ahead of the car and see why she had. The only way I can describe it is as if there was a person, standing in the middle of the road, ABSORBING light. You could see the headlights on the road, grass, etc. But once it hit this area in the middle of the road it looked in the shape of a person as if the light was simply being sucked into something shaped like a person. I instantly felt chills all over my body and my eyes teared. Still slowing down we glanced at each other and looked back, whatever it was, was gone. Once we got to my house we ran from the driveway inside, we were both quite shaken up and have talked about the incident a few times since. We tried figuring out anything reasonable it could have been, but haven't come to any good conclusions yet other than it was strange as fuck and scared the ever loving shit out of us.
