Love is a funny word

Conjuring corporate images:

     fat naked babies,

     over-priced roses,

     diamond demands,

     pink hearts shaped like airborne asses,

     and incredulously encumbered dames
     in the ample arms of steroidic bro-hans

Ignoring the facts that:

     even pretty arrows kill,

     cut flowers wither and rot,

     carbon is an abundant mineral,

     doggystyle doesn’t guarantee even a cumshot,

     and plastic parts pop
     under retard strength

All that’s really needed:

     two people rubbing paths,

     sparking a little ember between,

     kindling the tender tinder of desire,

     minding the flames without running out of fuel,

     and embracing warmth
     without getting too burned
