Torn bellybutton piercing - HELP!

I got my belly button pierced just over 6 months ago. It has mostly healed and I changed the piercing last month. I have had no problems with the new piercing (although sometimes I do notice a bit of pus?).

Tonight I flopped onto my bed to grab something, and caught my piercing on a blanket. It ripped slightly (and bled a lot!) I've cleaned it with a saline solution (provided by the parlour when I got it done) and it doesn't look too bad, but I want to know how to avoid infection AND maintain my piercing. Should I put on a bandaid? Polysporin? Treat it like a new piercing?
