Finding a job in college

I'm about to enter my 3rd semester in college, and although I have a job, it pays minimum wage and is incredibly boring. I'm wondering if there's any jobs/internships available at my level of education. I'm confident in my abilities as a programmer, I just don't think anyone would take my application seriously.

P.S. please let me know if this isn't the right subreddit for this, I'll gladly post elsewhere.
