Demon Attacks My Family, Saved Through Occult Power/Knowledge(ME)

(Just want to say just discovered this subscription, spent all day reading it, and so happy I found it! I have TONS of stories and discussions on all manner of spiritual weirdness, will post more on separate threads. I think you guys will dig 'em)

So, as I preface I practice Hoodoo(African-American occult tradition) and Powwow(Penn-Dutch occult tradition), though in my young and initial forays into the occult I was trained in Shamanism, became well versed in Chaos Magic, and explored things I shouldn't have, and saw a few of strange things regarding the Cthulu mythos. I learned quite a bit. At the time of the incident I was well past all that and doing well. My occult focus was on honoring my local spirits(Ancestors, Kobolds, Totem, Land) and I can insure you nothing "dark" was going on.

So we move into our current town-house, my girlfriend, her mother, our cats, and I. As soon as we move in, My GF and her mother feel odd. Cats seem odd. I don't have any problem. After several weeks GF's Mother starts telling us she is having bad dreams. REALLY bad dreams: being stabbed to death, choked, etc. I tell her it's nothing.

Then GF starts having same dreams. Gets increasingly more scared. Wakes up screaming one night saying there was a figure in our door. Even with all I do, I blow it off, saying it was just a nightmare.

Then it came for me.

GF and I are asleep in bed. All of a sudden I wake up, and I mean WIDE awake, though still laying down. I turn to my head to look at GF. As I do a strange, sustained COLD breeze(mind you door/window closed) blows through and I watch GF shiver in what only I can describe as...what you would expect in a horror movie. I look up and there is a humanoid black mass atop me.

And then it chokes me.

I knew I wasn't asleep. I felt legit pressure on my throat, saw the arms and hands. Pure black, pure shadow. For a moment I struggle to call GF's name. And then, on pure instinct and knowledge I say a certain little Sumerian formula for exorcisms. You call it to the four directions, but the first time it was immediately gone. I spoke them to each direction, and felt the entity was gone. After quite awhile of calming my self I went to sleep knowing what I had to do.

Next morning I told GF, she was of course very frightened. I was sure(somehow, maybe the Ancestors?) the entity lived in our upstairs hallway, the area that never really got light(always felt weird about it). We both slept downstairs that night with a St. Micheal card held up and pointed towards the stairs. Felt the entity try to come down, but it couldn't. I prayed for power and went to sleep.

Next day was D-Day. Time for this asshole to go. I went visioning(term I use, though it is called Journeying by the majority of the shamanic community. Basically going into the spirit world.) I see the entity and my house spirits(whole 'nother post. Google Kobolds and you'll get it) are all around me. I see the dark mass at the foot of the stairs. I tell the thing it must go, that it cannot linger. It asks me who will move it. I say I. It laughs and calls my spirits weak, and says I can't do anything. I remind it of how I tore it off me. It gets larger, and angrier, and challenges me to remove it.

I oblige.

I go upstairs and this "recipe" pops in my head(I include it here if anybody else suffers something similar) of a bluing ball, salt, and water. I put these together in a dish, mix them, call on the spirits of said ingredients to help me, and start asperging the mixture and saying prayers. I can literally feel the entity being kicked and moved from place to place. Finally, after going through every room and closet, I reach the front door and it leaves.

Never had any problems after. Still wonder what it really was.

Now, granted(and me and GF were talking about this the other day) if there is one thing I've done really well for other people it's breaking hexes and chasing out spirits. Regardless, never been more afraid or more confronted with a negative spirit, and never been more happy with the result.
