Advice on Sheering Jacobs Sheep

Does any one have any advice on sheering Jacobs sheep? My sister and her husband have a little herd of about 7 sheep. The husband and I were sheering the ram the other day and it was a nightmare. The best position we had him in was if I held his jaw in my right hand, the base of his skull in my left and kneeled on his shoulder while the husband sheered.

This ram has beautiful horns that prevent us from tilting its head into its side. He kicked me off a few times so the fleece isn't in great condition. Any advice is welcome.

They are hiring a sheep sheerer next year, but they are in a pretty rural area and I don't know if the sheerer will be able to get out to them. Also, they think the internet is evil, which is why they don't post this for themselves.
