I yelled at a biker today, please judge me within

I has having kind of a rough day so I jumped on my road bike to blow off some steam.

I live in Denver which is great, but limits my roadbiking options so I jumped on a popular bike path for convince sake.

I understand it's a busy bike path and not ideal. It gets busy, people don't pay attention, dog's jump out in front of you, it can be a shitshow, I get it.

Though it is annoying when people are obviously riding two wide across the path I don't get that worked up about it, I understand it's a bike path so I slow down and them pass them when it's safe/appropriate.

So I'm about 12 miles into the ride and finally getting out of town when along one of the straightaways there were two people biking along next to each other taking up the entire path, annoying but not a bike deal, I slow down to about 10mph and as I approach them they are literally riding on the far left and far right sides of the path.

Sensing that they aren't experienced and that if I were to say anything they could swirve and hit me, I passed inbetween them seeing as there was 4 goddamn feet of space in the middle and about 1 foot of space on either side of them.

As I begin to accelerate, I hear the guy say: "you could have at least said you were passing"

I was having a bad day, I lost it.

I yelled a profanity laden tirade at him and how he was completely obviously to anyone one else and a danger to both himself and others. I didn't really him what he was trying to yell at me but gave him the finger and rode away.

I don't feel bad about it and I averaged 45kph on the way home (still slowing down when it wasn't safe).

Just because I'm on a nice road bike and wearing gear doesn't mean I'm an asshole, I'm just trying to not get killed.
