fake cocaine snort using after effects?

hey guys! this might be weird

my friends and i created a short film a while back, and i finally got around to editing it. there is a scene where a character snorts cocaine off a table in front of him. we shot it with nothing on the table, and i want it to look like there's something there.

is this something that can be accomplished in after effects? i've never used AE before, but i bet something like a small blurred line that wipes away in time with the snort would be totally sufficient.

i have a copy of AE at my disposal. would anybody be able to give me a quick tutorial on how to accomplish this? thanks
