What's everyone's thought on the trap movement?

been to a few shows recently, and listened to a few mixes and the new rising genre seems to be trap, which much like dubstep has been around for a while but is beginning to gain appreciation from big artists such as Nero, Chuckie, Skrillex, Diplo, and various others. What's everyone's take on the rising genre and how do you think it will play into the fold of EDM? I figured this being the newest rising genre in edm, it seemed like the logical place to ask this question.

TL;DR: Trap is becoming pretty popular, what are your thoughts on it?
