This is my proudest [NSV]- my two closest friends and my mum are now on the keto bandwagon.

It's not a secret that my family are all overweight. My mum used to be super skinny (size UK6) until she got a family and learned how to cook. Every night we would eat huge family meals together. Think middle-eastern chub genetics coupled with pasta bakes in bechamel sauce, chickpea rice with kebabs- have you ever been to morrocco or egypt? That sort of food. Every night. It's not a wonder we were all huge (save for my brother but that little bugger won't stop fidgeting).

The problem with my mum is she's huge and unhealthy. I've always been able to do pushups and situps and run for miles, whether it was at 80kgs or 60. But on Sunday she put food in the oven for my siblings, sat down, and asked me to cook her just one low-carb meal for her to try. I made her some cauliflower roast and parmesan chicken wings (best comfort food ever) and she said that maybe she'd like to try this ''silly low-carb diet for a change''.

As if that wasn't enough, yesterday during my lunch break, these two turdwaffles^<3 came up to me and took me aside so they wouldn't 'embarrass me'. They looked me seriously in the eye and said "Listen (DancingBabyNinjas), you're getting a little bit thin. We're worried. You've gotten so skinny in a short amount of time. Have you been starving yourself?"

At which point I just laughed, and told them exactly what it was I'd been doing. They were a bit shocked, but it didn't take too much convincing to get them to read the FAQs here and on a few other websites. They're both only a little overweight so I told them to try low-carb, not keto. I lent one friend my copy of Why We Get Fat and she just texted me ''amazed. wow. who would've known my fav strawberries and cream are healthier than a cereal bar?"

This is by far my proudest NSV; the people I love are finally ditching the starvation/lowfat/weightwatchers diets I see them suffering on for bacon. Tasty, tasty bacon.
