As an adult when one starts "dating" somebody, how much time on average generally passes before one engages in sex?

Hi,

I am the age of 32, a guy, and have never been on a date. I am curious, if one starts to date somebody, on average how long does one date in a relationship before you are expected to engage in sex? Typically? What would be normal and what would be odd?

I am not particularly interested in dating and find the prospect unlikely, not to mention unnerving, at this point, so for the time being this is just a question of curiosity. Thank you kindly.
