I hear a lot of negative things about the republicans, Can somebody explain this a little more to me?

I'm curious to hear about some negative aspects of the republican side, my grandfather has sworn himself to them and until recently, I did not know how conservative he was. I'll explain more.

Recently I had to go to the doctors with a 102 fever, causing my gramps to give me a ride. we get there, and are waiting in the recovery room when I asked him who he wanted to win the presidency, to which e replied "Romney" which got the ball rolling and he is oppsed to a few things..

• Gay marriage - He seems to think that we HAVE to go by the old bible scripture that male and females should ONLY be wed, and if we let the gays get married then shortly people will be marrying foreign objects and such.

• He is against obamacare - He thinks that we should not have to pay for other peoples healthcare if they can't afford it, but what about people who have cancer and have outrageous medical bills?

• He swears that obama is the antichrist and Romney will deliver us from evil.

Now a couple questions I have is how is he fed this? I don't understand where the ignorance comes from.
