In 8th grade I came out to my Catholic mom as Buddhist. She said "So you're Atheist? Hitler was an Atheist so you must be a Nazi!"

I pointed out that Hitler was raised as a Catholic and was sent to my room.

I went through the rite of Confirmation to not embarrass her. My patron saint was "Daria".
