Just wanted to throw this out there.

The family has never been that accepting of trees and I am by far the biggest advocate between the 5 of us. We are all big drinkers though. Its not really spoken about with the parents but they are not dumb. Over the last memorial day break I had the whole family at my house (Mom, Dad, Older Brother, his Wife, Older Sister and My wife) and on a whim decided to bring out the trees because @ 31 yoa I decided "who gives a shit".

We had had a full on sibling session with me, my wife, my brother, his wife, and my sister. We got to a [6] and listened to music, talked about life, bonded, caught up, planned our next "kids" trip and generally had a blast for 3 hours. It was the most fun I have had with my siblings in my entire life. My wife still talks about it to this day. My sister-in-law thanked me before leaving to go home. My sister hugged me and said she cant wait to come and visit again. Anyone with a big loud family knows its not without drama, but that night we all laughed and came closer. It will forever be one of the most memorable experiences I have had and (it appears that) my family felt the same way. This was kind of a big deal to me and it would not have happened otherwise.

I love my family and were closer than we have been in years because of small instances like this one. I was always the black sheep and I feel like this let me closer to the people who mean the most to me. Thank you to all of the stories I have read in this subreddit as it gave me balls to throw caution to the wind and enjoy the one life that I have right now and to do with the people that mean the most to me. I love you all and tokes to all who have had a similar experience. It was, for lack of a better word, epic. Thanks trees!
