Astro A40 mic broken.

Not sure if there's a more appropriate subreddit, but this is the best one I could think of, since I know tons of mw3 players with Astros exclusively for mw3.

Basically, what's happening is I can't hear voice chat from other players half the time, and then most of the time everyone complains that I'm really quiet and that my mic makes strange sounds.

How I have it wired is just USB to the xbox, mic cable straight into controller, and AV cables hooked into the yellow and white xbox cables, and then into the TV.

Anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? I've only had these for 3 months, and it kind of sucks that they're broken.
