My parents cut me off last moment. I need to take out $22,000 in loans. How do I go about this?
My parents recently found out about my boyfriend and also about my homosexuality. I was subsequently kicked out of the house and was told that the money they offered me was no longer an option. The actual school tuition is close to $55,000. Around $33,000 is being paid by federal Pell Grant, academic scholarships and Dean scholarships for my school. I also have access to subsidized and unsubsidized federal loans. My parents were originally going to help me pay most of the 23k, but now I'm entirely on my own. I will get a job along with my studies and next year I will most definitely transfer out to a cheaper school. But I need to ride a year out, so if anyone can help me out as to what I'm supposed to be doing, depending on my chances, I will be very grateful for the help. Also, I'm not sure if you need to know this but my parents have made around $45,000 last year in terms of joint income, and will probably be making somewhere around that this year. I also am a resident of New York and will attend school in Connecticut.
