Is it be worse to get raped, or be falsely accused of rape?

What I mean by falsely accused of rape is that regardless to a trial or not, you're a free person but all of your friends still think that you raped someone. I.e. you'll have this stigma associated with you for the rest of your life.

Some cons for each:

Getting raped: You get raped, it's traumatic, you may develop relationship issues, you may develop trust issues

Getting falsely accused of rape: You have the stigma of a rapist attached to you, you'll have trouble getting a job (provided word gets around), you may lose some disbelieving friends, you feel generally like shit.

Both situations occur to a victim. The person did not want either one of these things.

I understand that this is a touchy subject and that rape is no joking matter ever, but I've been wondering about social repercussions vs physical repercussions recently. I'm curious to hear your answers.
