Mineral or no mineral for oily/combination/acne prone skin?

The girl at the MAC counter today told me to steer clear of mineral make up as it has "too many active ingredients for my skin". Has anyone else heard this? I feel like my life is a lie D; But seriously does anyone recommend the MAC studiofix liquid?
