First beard, need advice.

Oi. Ended up in the woods for a couple of weeks without a shaver and decided just to keep what I've already grown. Seen a couple videos on following the neck line for a decent trim, but none of my friends have grown a beard to give me personal advice.

Is that a correct way to trim the neck/cheek line or should I just hit the reset button?
