New Triber, got some questions

Recent convert after seeing it advertised through Steam. It's been a little over a week and I freaking love this game. As I understand it there is a lot to the tribes community that has been there since Tribes 1 & 2. I've looked over the links in the sidebar but I know there is more.

What are some of the things newer players seem to miss? You know besides don't llama grab or pay so much attention to the generator the other team caps your flag unopposed.
