Weird, unintentional, WILD experience
I'll start off by letting you know that I am not very good at LD. I used to be decent at it where I could become lucid for short periods of time, but being super busy I fell out of practice. Lately I have been attempting to get back into it. It has worked for the most part and I have been becoming better at it again over the last few weeks. Anyway, onto my experience.
I have never tried WILD before as I have a lot of scary thoughts when I am awake and therefore do not want to have something terrifying happen to me in SP, so I stick to MILD until I decide to grow a pair. However last night for the first time I used the "Dreamz" app on my phone to wake me up in the middle of REM to increase my chances of lucidity. Well, being very well rested at this time I did not fall immediately back to sleep. Instead I started thinking about lucid dreaming while laying there awake with my eyes closed. Somehow the movie inception came into my half-awake mind and I could see Leonardo Decaprio (You know where you're half asleep and somewhat dreaming). And he said something. I strongly believe this to be my subconscious talking to me in the waking world, which is a very interesting experience. Anywho, he said to me, though it almost seemed not directed towards me "...and THAT's the trick, isn't it?", followed by "To PULL your mind into the dream." And with the "PULL" I felt as though I was sinking through my bed and had a weird tingly, almost numb feeling. I immediately realized what was happening, and I could have easily ridden it into the most lucid dream I've ever experienced, but as soon as I felt that sinking feeling I felt like there was something evil in my room with me that scared the shit out of me. So I woke myself up, though I remained in bed with my eyes closed, not daring to open them for fear of what would be there.
So in short I my subconscious, depicted as Leonardo Decaprio, spoke to me and forced me into a WILD. However, I was too scared to ride it into lucidity.
Anyone else have an experience like this? Where you spoke to your subconscious as you're only half asleep, and aware of what is happening. Also, anyone involuntarily experienced a WILD?
EDIT: When I got the sinking feeling I also heard a buzzing sound. Not sure if that's normal.
