Looking for a new place to live ~February...

Hi all:

I've been in a Towson highrise since 2011 and am ready to be in something single-family. My wife works in the Towson/Joppa area, and I work out of the country, but am home every 6 weeks. I/we've absolutely loved living in Towson, but we're ready for something a bit more private (single-family home/nice rowhome). Towson has been wonderful, but it's getting too expensive and we'd like to rent a house instead of an apartment.

What we are looking for: Something 3+ bedrooms, fenced yard for the dogs, garage/off street parking, quiet area. $1500-$2000/mo is acceptable/negotiable.

What we don't want: Downtown, duplexes, apartments, highrises, street parking.

I've been peeking around (online) at Middle River, Essex, Montbello, and Aberdeen so far.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I've been told Aberdeen has a snake problem! (Yuck!) Also, since I tend to be gone a lot (half the year), I want an area that my wife can be safe and live comfortably. It doesn't have to be commercial, either. I would be more than happy to give my money to a Redditor that wanted to rent their place out.

Thanks for any advice/help you guys can share!
