Yesterday I helped a complete stranger move. Today I still can't decide if I should be happy I helped someone out or if I was taken advantage of. What do you think reddit? Have you ever been in a similar situation?

So I was smoking a cigarette on a bench outside of my apartment yesterday and a random guy around my age -28- asks me for help moving something he bought off of Craigslist from the back of his truck. I was done with my smoke so I figured, sure, why not? After we move one thing, he keeps asking me again and again to help him piece by piece. 2 hours later he is all moved in and today I am sore as hell wondering if maybe I was too nice. He said thank you but never offered up much more appreciation than that. Now I will see him around the building and am still deciding what to make of the whole situation. Any advice/similar stories out there?

EDIT: by "offer up" I don't mean I wanted money or anything in exchange maybe except for the offer of a glass of water as it was rather hot and I sweat like crazy.
