Need help deciding next choice for cRPG.

I played through (kind of, I guess. I got less enthusiastic and stopped after getting the crossbow robot) Planescape Torment, and realized I was more into combat than incredible storylines. I shit you not, Planescape had me immersed for quite a bit with its story. Right now I'm considering Baldurs Gate 2 having read many good things about it. But Fallout 1 and 2 also seem appealing. I dont have the greatest gaming machine (laptop) so I'm taking my time enjoying the classics until I upgrade. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated! Also I heard about a Baldurs Gate 2 remake? Any news on that?
