I'm a proud Filipino-American and of course I love rooting for other Filipinos in whatever competition is out there. I just got back from Las Vegas and the new [2012 EVO](http://evo.shoryuken.com/2012/07/08/col-cc-filipino-champ-takes-the-ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3-evo-2012-championship-title/) Grand Finals Champion is none other than [Filipino Champ](http://thumbnails.cbsig.net/CBS_Production_GameSpot/CBS_Production_GameSpot/2012/07/09/GameSpot/Video_Features/102/1015/gsm_169_evo2012_filipino_champ_interview_960x540.jpg). For those who don't know what EVO is, it's one of the biggest if not the biggest video game tournament in the world. There were over 1000 contestants from all over the world, Mexico, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China and was streamed live over their website by over 90,000 viewers!

And in professional wrestling, [Zema Ion](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zema_Ion) a proud Filipino Wrestler [won the X-Division championship](http://euro.mediotiempo.com/media/2012/07/09/zema-ion.jpg) on Sunday as well at Impact Wrestling's Destination X PPV. I'm very aware that professional wrestling is fake but I find it very entertaining and even more so that a Filipino holds one of the championship belts in the 2nd most popular wrestling organization in the world.

Just thought I'd share that news with everyone here. 2 new Filipino champions!
