Welcome to GreenlightQuality - A subreddit for finding the best games on Steam's Greenlight
In the sidebar, I've listed a few beginning rules for this subreddit. They aren't anything special or unique, and for easier reading, I'll copy them here as well.
-
Reddiquette is in full effect! Please follow these guidelines, as they help moderate all of Reddit.
-
Do not go into posts and exclaim "this game sucks" or any other posts that do not add to the discussion. If you don't like a game, give a detailed explanation of why you do not like it, or how it could be improved.
-
Vote with upvotes and downvotes, not angry comments.
-
Posts about games are required to be links to the Greenlight page of the game being discussed. Non-Greenlight games will be removed. If you have a personal gameplay video or screenshot from a demo or non-Greenlight version of the game, please post it in the comments.
-
In the event that a video or image about a Greenlight game is posted as a link outside of the proper post's comments, the poster will be asked to either repost it as a comment to the correct page, or to create the link to the Greenlight page, and post the video or image as a comment to that link. This helps group together all relevant information about a certain game in one place, so users can see all of the videos, images, and discussions.
-
If it is a personal game that is not on Greenlight yet, please take it to r/GameDev or r/IndieGaming.
-
No memes, image macros, or other non-relevant posts to the discussion, please.
-
Meta posts about the service or the subreddit are encouraged in the form of self posts, as long as they have valuable discussion behind them. Please no "Greenlight rules" or "Can I be a mod?" posts.
-
Whenever possible, when a post is deleted, the poster will get a message about which rule was broken, and why the post was deleted.
As I said, very simple rules. They're bound to change as this subreddit grows, and I want this community to be a community, so if you have suggestions, you can message me, u/somehokie, or send modmail.
Now that the boring rules and introductions are done, what sort of games do you want to see on the Greenlight service?
My own personal opinion is for more high-quality 4X games, and more games with unique ideas. If the right developers find and use the service, we could have more games like Portal was when it first came out. I'd also like to see more RPG games like Breathe of Death VIII and Phantasy Star.
