Should this offend me?
I've been dating my SO for about a year and half. Our relationship has only gotten stronger in the past few months. I'm about to start college and have been contemplating moving closer to the college, which is right by his house. All of my friends seem to think I should move in with him.
I was a little nervous at the idea, just because I didn't think I was ready to move out on my own. But when we talked about it, he said "I don't want you to move in."
I was a little shocked, it was just the way he said it, like the idea disgusted him. Waited a while and I asked why not and he said "I'm not ready to move in with you."
Now, I'm completely fine with everything he just said, EXCEPT... his last girlfriend had moved in with him. They'd only dated for 6-7 months and they lived together, and yet he didn't even want to think about me living there. It just really hurt my feelings, but I'm not sure how to tell him that without sounding like I want to move in. I don't want to live with him, but not because I'm not ready to live with him, I'm just not ready to live without my parents.
I guess it's overreaction, but still. :/
Sorry for the wall of text!
EDIT: Well. Thank you guys for the advice. My boyfriend found this, so. Uh. xD
