My girlfriend and I are most likely moving to Chicago in a couple months, but she's starting to get cold feet. Can you help convince her?

We'll be moving from Washington, DC to Chicago in September if my transfer at work goes well. She's been hearing from friends and family that: Chicago is more expensive than DC (I know that it's not true when it comes to rent, can't speak past that), that there is a ton of crime in Chicago, that nobody goes out to bars/clubs in the winter, and other negative things in general.

Please help me convince her. I can't wait to join you guys in Illinois.
