Finding god with the birth of offspring?

I've heard several annecdotes in my life of former atheists/agnostics suddenly believing in god upon seeing or experiencing the birth of their first child. Is anyone aware of a study researching this idea? Anyone else heard people say this before? Anyone experienced it themselves? Google hasn't been much help.
