Do you like the way Fan Service in ecchi is going?
Quite new to watching ecchi anime but I've been noticing that more and more anime producers are starting to accept the viewers as mature as of 2012 adding greater fan service to this genre, because after all it is about "servicing the fan" giving them what they expect? You wouldn't watch a comedy anime and expect not to have a laugh right?
How I came to notice this difference is from watching something quite high on ecchi as my first ecchi anime ever watched. The first ecchi I ever watched was "Highschool DxD", yes I know I haven't watched anime for long.
There was Oppai, there was innuendos, there where jokes which gave me good laughs etc etc. So I decided "I like this genre", "what else is there?"
So I watched "Kore wa Zombie Desu ka", I was expecting the same amount of ecchi because my first encounter with ecchi was quite "High on Ecchi"? Not saying I didn't like "Kore wa Zombie Desu ka", It is amazing I watch that in my sparetime because it's so amazing just as a comedy anime. I may laugh at the same jokes over and over but whatever.
Watching old Ecchis compared to the 2012s give me a hint of as said, the anime producers feeling that "Our viewers are mature, lets upgrade our Fan service!" and I believe that is a good improvement to anime.
I am not saying that all ecchis will go this way, I am just saying the quantity of content which contain "High amounts of Ecchi" is going up. And as a fan of medium to high, I am glad of this change.
Thoughts?
