What do people who use o-rings think of them?

I'm using a Leopold Brown w/PBT caps. The o-ring hardness is about 70 on the duro chart, ~1.6mm in width. I've been switching between using them and not every couple months for the past year.

They feel a bit like a nice rubber dome. It's to be expected, because I am bottoming out on silicone, but I can't tell whether I prefer this or not. After a while I get sick of the slight mushiness over the hard plastic clack and switch them out. I bottom out, get sore fingertips so I end up going back. I like them, feel a bit bad about not getting the whole cherry experience and then think I should just go with topres. Anybody else have different thoughts?
