Hello newcomers! Please read the rules on the sidebar, and take all of them seriously.

We had a spike in number of subscribers yesterday. In a single day we could all easily observe the sudden rise in thoughtless, 2-word comments, submissions that are just youtube links, subreddit promotions, "your favorite duets" type of list-y posts.

We will remain an intellectual music subreddit with a high quality/quantity ratio. We've been relatively relaxed about deleting threads and comments, and we haven't banned any readers yet. The strictness of moderation will change if submission quality declines. Hope all of you stick around, but maybe read a few threads first and check out the deleted threads post to see where we draw the line.

We got many reports for some of the threads on the front page right now. The reason they are still there is out of respect for those who took the time to write out great comments.

Peace!
