Does anyone else think the Authority should be more interesting and majestic?

Remember the first time we meet Russell, the Magister, and Sophie Anne? The settings were unique and interesting. You had a feeling of wonder because of how fanciful everything seemed.

Russell rode up in front of a giant manor on a freaking horse. Sophie Anne's enclave resembled Versaille, the Magister spat doom and gloom in a creepy car park which looked like it belonged in the world of Mad Max.

The Authority are in some weird Sci-Fi looking facility with a lame conference table. I mean come on why not a big manor that looks cool or something? I feel they dropped the ball. Much of the mystique behind the authority hedges on them holding immense power. I mean vampires hid themselves from humanity until relatively recently. Imagine how much money and resources you could attain if you lived forever without anyone knowing. Hell just put money down and gain interest without even doing anything nefarious. It just feels rather dull considering everything.
