Decrease in ROF after spring upgrade?

So, recently I upgraded the spring in my Tokyo Marui M4 SOPMOD by about 20%, however, after I did that, I've noticed an obvious decrease in the rate of fire. I'm guessing this has SOMETHING to do with the upgrade, so what could I do to restore the regular FPS?
