Transportation questions. Going to be attending CSULB this fall.

(I didn't post this in r/CSULB as it's not very active.) Would getting a motorcycle speed up the commute and lessen the amount of times filling up on gas going to CSULB from Costa Mesa? I am currently driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris, should I switch up? If so, any recommendations on a motorcycle? Any feedback would be awesome.
