What in the hell do so many people see as entertainment in UFC fighting?

I dunno. Call me a big ol' pansy or whatever...but jesus fuck. I cannot sit and watch two people beat the living hell out of each other for 'sport', much less flap my bingo wings out of excitement for a particular dude that hit another one harder. I know, I know. There are some 'martial art' aspects that take 'skill' and all. Though, c'mon. All it looks like to an ignorant bystander is two people getting paid a lot of money now to have brain damage later. Can someone explain it to me?
